Killer J

The First and Last to Laugh

Killer J is not your standard Heavy Metal Machines pilot. One of the most notorious con-men in Metal City, this clown found out the hard way that the more people know your name, the harder it is to fleece them of their money. Jay is a man with few friends and many detractors, but he takes it all with a smile on his face, because the more people hate, the more chaos he can create. In the Arena, Killer J is a troll of the highest degree, not happy with just being the best but also making others worse. A charismatic and narcissistic personality, Jay built a cult about him filled with those attracted to his persona, the crazy and dangerous Killer J. Jay is happy to use these people to his own ends, but don’t be fooled, there’s only one person important in this cult. Everyone else is disposable.

Character Guide

interceptor

What’s that I see? Are you NOT laughing? I thought you would be amused by now… oh well, let’s talk about Killer J. This anti-interceptor character is a specialist in creating chaos and infuriating his enemies. A Compliment is just a nice way of saying “thank you for hitting me, here’s change”. Killer J is so annoying that you’ll want to hurt him, but he’ll just laugh last with damage. Round-a-Blast is a surprise that you won’t be forgetting so soon. With a hit of this concealed shotgun, enemy's cars will unwillingly make a sharp turn, losing control of the direction for a brief moment. Sum this with Friendly Rockets and the jest is up and ready. By firing this into an already turned car, Killer J can send his opponents into a carousel of lava or a trip into the droppers much easier. Be careful not to send them into the direction they want - that would not be funny at all. As every other good show man before him, Killer J saves the best for last. The Big Joke is an area-exploding barrel that makes enemies spin out of control and take a lot of damage for 3 seconds. If you’re still not laughing now, wait to see this in action…

Strategies

A Killing Joke

Sometimes a clown must make people cry - it's just show business. In order to make them cry even harder, though, you should get even more damage for your toys weapons with Fire-Cracker and Kaboom!. Get Spinning Wheel to make your enemies traverse further, and Tire Puncher to make them slow and easy to pursue. What, they think they can face Killer J alone? Don’t forget Bullets from Hell and Symphony of Power to increase the destructive potential, and The Big Joke to please your crowd even more. Let’s watch the circus burn now.

Let Me See You Smile

Ahhh... the joys of making your enemies so angry that they can’t drive properly anymore. Let’s start by shutting up those trying to end with your fun with Blank Cartridge and then hit’em every single time with the increased rocket size of Higher Caliber. As a matter of fact, these rockets look so fun now that you might want to do it again and again and again… Mountebank can surely help you with that. After a good, friendly rocket into the lava, nothing finishes a joke better than Tire Puncher, to make them really stick to the fire. Since you’ll be the JOY of this show, you should probably get Heavy Metal Plates and Metal Never Dies. You know, just to be sure.
